Courtside Crush by Kayla Tirrell (Review)

Courtside Crush by Kayla Tirrell

Charlie’s boyfriend cheated on her with a cheerleader, and what did she do about it? She did what any girl would do. She got revenge. But, it didn’t work out like she’d hoped. She was caught on video keying his car.

She gets eight weeks of community service and athletic probation right before basketball season starts up. Not to mention she might lose her chance of being captain and getting a scholarship to college.

Her luck starts looking up a tiny bit when she meets Jackson at Marlowe Junction’s Helping Hands. He makes her community service seem not so bad. She falls for him. He has the good looks and is a huge basketball fan. What more does the girl need to fall for him?

Only bad thing is, Jackson is her brother’s biggest enemy. What will happen when he finds out?

In the beginning of this book, I really got the whole Carrie Underwood “Before He Cheats” vibes. I love how the main character seems tough, but is sweet and soft too.

This book honestly reminded me many times why I love reading. Between the wonderful Jackson, all the conflict between Charlie and her ex-boyfriend, and figuring out what to do about all her issues, this book definitely kept me intrigued the whole way through.

I, for one, am I big fan of books with great siblings and Charlie and Preston were great.
Preston is obsessed with winning the Senior Year Rematch, which is the big basketball game against Pinewood—Jackson’s school.

I loved how Jackson took some major needed action towards the end. He is definitely a swoon worthy book boyfriend.

You better get yourself a copy to find out what happens when Jackson wants to be official but Charlie doesn’t know what to do!

I am most likely to get a paperback copy as well for my bookshelf. I will definitely commend this book for anyone who wants a cute, sweet, slightly edgy and romantic clean YA read.

For my content part of my review, there were a few uses of the word “crap” but besides that there was no foul language or anything inappropriate. Definitely a clean read and good for most any age.
Also, I don’t know ANYTHING about basketball and I understood the few basketball scenes perfectly! No need to worry about getting lost if you don’t know much about the sport.

This book was kindly given to me by the author.

This book is super cute. Most I say much more besides that? Lol!

When Derek asked her to be his girlfriend I found it completely unexpected. I was shocked and become extremely excited seeing as this was the way the plot was going. I went into this book without knowing anything about it.
"I want to impress her," he said. I believe there's more to it then that. I'm finding the main character pretty reliable with what she is going through. I know I'm in for a good ride.
I also love the whole dart scene lol!
*When I finished the book*: Just wow. The ending was so unexpected! I love Derek and all the other characters. Pixie definitely surprised me with this ending and I need more. Lots more. (Which we can all get more in the sequel, My Fiancé's Best Friend). This book is also perfect for Valentines, super cute and romantic. It is also great for when you're just looking for a cute and easy read. This book will make you swoon and laugh for sure. Pixie did a great job. I still do not understand how she makes her male characters so...ugh, if only I knew how to put these fictional characters into words...JUST BUY A COPY. Lol!
Also, if you are worried but content. Stop. This is one of the cleanest books I've read. It's so clean that I can't even make a content section because there is nothing to warn about.
A copy of this book was given to me by the author. Thanks Pixie!

Writers Best Pens!

Pens are definitely VERY important for a writer. Even if you write your complete novel on a fancy online document, you still probably have notebooks and many papers of plotting and character mapping. Or little travel notebooks with random ideas while your out. There is always a possibility that you'll need a good pen and this is the blog post for it!

My all time favorite pens are the Paper Mate Flair Felt Tip pens. They were so easy to write with even when your scribbling a quick imperfect note.

By Clicking Here you can buy this 12 count from Amazon. I definitely recommend getting a couple colors. The colored ones are great for underlining and color coordinating important paragraphs, ideas, dialogue, etc. when working on your novel. They are also great for writing in Christmas and Birthday Cards or even planners! They are my Go-To pens everyday for everything.

Click here to check them out! Here is a image where you can see just how amazing the tips are. I've had mine for at least five months and haven't had any problems with them running out out of ink or the tips getting messed up. The tips make writing soft and they glide so easily!

All though, if you're still skeptical you can just get a simple six pack of black for a very reasonable price. Just click here. You can even share with friends, family, and coo-workers! You will not regret buying these pens.

There are also even smaller packs below.

Now, if my long talk has already sold you on these pens lol, then here are some more pack opinions for you to check out!
Right here is a 16 count pack with almost all the colors. Click Here to view them.

Beside the 16 is a 24 pack and I probably recommend this and the black pack because these pens are just that good!

For those who are unsure still, I recommend this 5 pack which comes with a couple colors and a black! Best of both worlds. Give them a try!

I really hope you'll take a look at these pens because I'm serious, I wouldn't use any other pens if I didn't have to. If you'd like to look through all the different pack and style opinions just click here!
