Six Years of Always Keep Fighting + How I came to find Supernatural

                       ALWAYS  KEEP

                      FIGHTIN

This week marks the 6th Anniversary of Always Keep Fighting, a campaign put on by Jared Padalecki

Supernatural is one of the longest running sci-fi/fantasy television series in the United States. This show has helped so many people in so many amazing ways.

I, myself, discovered Supernatural from writing one of my own books, A Christmas Present. With every book I write, I love making Pinterest boards filled with quotes, inspiration, and-my personal favorite-character models.

My book, A Christmas Present is when the readers are first introduced to Jason McCray-who is also the main character in A Christmas Miracle, and the incredible Jensen Ackles was chosen as Jason's character model. I hardly knew who Jensen Ackles was at the time back in December 2019. However, I did know and quickly learned, he was a actor in the famous show, Supernatural that I've heard about for the longest time. After finishing writing the three Christmas books, I decided I wanted to watch Supernatural to see if this "Dean" guy actually acted anything like my precious Jason. Little did I know I was stepping into.

I immediately fell in love with the show and with both Sam and Dean. It wasn't long before I was a die-hard fan. I've contented so deeply with the messages this show portrays. This series doesn't only show the importance of love and family, but of also goodness and being enough. We are all a little broken, just like Sam and Dean, and no matter what happen to them, they stuck together. At the day of the day, they were brothers and they'd die for one another. That's one of the things I look up to the most in this show.

With all that being said, I want to get into the main reason I'm writing this blog post today. It was back in season three of Supernatural when something Jared couldn't identify was bugging him. Just like many of us, Jared was having thoughts of losing and it winning. And it was when Jared was waiting in his trailer that it hit him. He couldn't quite muster up the strength to carry on. Jared was then later told he had depression.

Jared came out about his mental struggles and later went on to start the Always Keep Fighting campaign that benefits To Write Love On Her Arms. TWLOHA is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide.

AKF (Always Keep Fighting) movement was originally started in 2015.

Just the three simple words of Always Keep Fighting has helped me more than I realized. Not to mention how much it helps me to see the community that is standing with it. I am thankful I have came to find the SPN community and be able to live at the same time as this legacy. I believe that what's been created here will live on for a very long time.

And with that, I want to leave you with one last thing, you are never alone. Even when you are sitting down in the shower, having a meltdown, you are not alone. You are loved. You are enough. Now each and every one of you better promise me to Always Keep Fighting ;)
